Asansol Engineering College , known as AEC , is a self-funded institution (assisted by TEQIP) located in Asansol, an industrial city and Paschim Bardhaman district headquarters in West Bengal, about 200 kilometers from the capital Kolkata, India. It offers undergraduate and graduate programs in Engineering and Technology. This college is the ninth technical college in West Bengal by Careergraph, The Telegraph (Calcutta) in 2009. This college has repeatedly entered into the top 10 engineering universities in Bengal by other leading authorities.

Asansol Engineering College is a self-funded institution established in 1998 to facilitate technical education in the Asansol industry belt by The Academy of Engineers. The college is a joint venture of the JIS group and the Techno India group.

The college is accredited to the Board of Engineering All India and is affiliated with West Bengal University of Technology. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering and Electrical Engineering is no longer accredited by the National Accreditation Board. The campus has grants from the World Bank under the Technical Education Quality Improvement Program (TEQIP).
Campus
The AEC campus is located at Vivekananda Sarani in Kanyapur, Asansol-4. NH-2 runs beside the campus. The campus is a group of buildings consisting of major academic blocks, departmental libraries, mechanical blocks along with a workshop, a new building comprising of state-of-the-art laboratories, central library, administrative blocks and separate hostels for boys and girls. In addition to this there is a privately run Xerox Center and a Student's Cafeteria. It also has a private soccer field, badminton court and centers for hosting indoor games only for students staying in senior male dormitories.
Academic program
West Bengal University of Technology awarded the title, B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA, and BCA to over 600 AEC students. Undergraduate students at AEC are selected through the West Bengal Entrance Examination (WBJEE) and All India Engineering Examination (AIEEE). At certain times, the campus is home to over 2,000 people: students, professors, and non-academic staff. The cutoff rating for admission to UG courses is about 30 percent in the WBJEE.
Bachelor
The bachelor's degree in engineering is a four-year Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Applied Electronics & amp; Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & amp; Communication Techniques, Computer Science & amp; Engineering and Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Civil Engineering.

Festival
Each year the campus organizes its annual festival. The festival is divided into two parts - a cultural festival, known as Leganzza, and a technical section known as Infoquest.
