Lawrence Chatman , better known as DJ Collage or Mista Chatman , is a reggae vocalist and electronic music producer. Raised in Chicago, he moved to the Bay Area in the early 1990s, and now calls Seattle's home. The style of music is referred to as reggae fusion.

Biography
Trained in the old school tradition of "ram dance" DJ chats made popular by artists like Yellowman, Nicodemus, and Super Cat, Collage began his musical career doing weekly guest venues with a live Jamaican reggae band in the famous Wild Hare nightclub on the north side of Chicago. After moving to California, he has the opportunity to perform and tour with established reggae artists such as U-Roy, Ras Michael, Barrington Levy, Messenjah, Raskidus, The Heptones, and Nicodemus. His vocals appeared two big ten hits in 1994, one with reggae soundsystem/band The Positive Sound Massive titled "Unity" and another with Dubtribe ambient/breakbeat group entitled "Mother Earth".
In 2000, Collage released their own CD Uptown/Downtown . These five tracks feature lyrics crisscrossing the dancehall Collage on top of hip-hop and raggamuffin beats. The EP received radio broadcasts in the US and Europe and the song "New Type Sound" was licensed by BSI Records and appeared in the Docking Sequence compilation.
In 2002, Collage became the guest vocalist of Vienna's downtempo crew Sofa Surfers. His vocals appeared on three songs on their Encounters CD, and he was invited to do a month-long European tour with the band to support the release. (It was released in the US in 2004 as View of Light via ESL record.) Collage goes on to work with other Vienna groups like Stereotyp, I-Wolf, Megablast, Kung Fu Divas & amp; Blockwerk. During this time the Collage is also often a guest of the Vienna/night jungle ragga - "Evil" run by Wickedsquad. This led to him becoming the lead vocalist in their first vinyl release "Domo-Kun-Bogle" which was accompanied by a video depicting Collage in animated form.
In 2003, Collage was moved to Seattle. But before he leaves the bay area, he connects with the Meat Beat Manifesto to record the vocals... In the CD Dub & amp; DVD Release.
In Seattle Collage has worked and recorded with locals like IQU & amp; Truckasauras.
Due to the confusion with the performance name due to the "DJ" prefix, Collage officially changed the name of the recording artist to Mista Chatman in May 2010. Her guest appearance on the third album of Delhi 2 Dublin, Planet Electric , was marked Debut name change.
