Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana (usually abbreviated to Ivy Tech or Ivy Tech Community College ) is Indiana's community college system, which includes 30 campuses in 14 regions. It is the largest public state postsecondary institution and the largest single state accredited state university system that serves nearly 200,000 students each year. It is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

History
Ivy Tech was founded in 1963 as the Vocational School of Indiana in order to provide technical and vocational education for various industries and was inaugurated as a technical vocational school system in 2005. The name "Ivy Tech" derives from an initialism (IV Tech) from the original name of the school. The name was officially changed to Ivy Tech State College in 1995.
In 1999, Ivy Tech partnered with Vincennes University to form Community College of Indiana. The partnership ended in 2005 and Ivy Tech was inaugurated as a college system, and was renamed Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana. In 2008, the Indiana University system agreed to move most of its (2-year) colleagues to the Ivy Tech Community College System.

Academics
Ivy Tech is a full-service college, offering more than 150 academic programs and concentrations for career development certificates, technical certificates, and associate degrees. Offerings vary by campus and are divided into four divisions: Business and Public Services, Health Sciences, Technology, and Universities/Transfer. The average class of Ivy Tech class is only about 22 students.
