Jobs
Book cover
Over the years, Lange has designed hundreds (if not thousands) of book jackets, mostly for Danish publishers.
Illustration
Lange's illustrations have appeared in many major US publications, including the New York Times Time, Time , Washington Post , GQ , and Boston Globe .
In 2013, a historic cocktail recipe book called Storied Sips was published, written by Erica Duecy and illustrated with collage, photo drinks and calligraphy by Poul Lange.
Lange's first book for children is Hullebogen , known in English as The Book of Holes . An actual hole flows through the book itself and forms the center of all illustrations. Lange drafted, wrote, illustrated, and designed the book, published by Gyldendal, a Danish publisher. This book has been available in the Danish edition since 2006; English edition is planned. This book won AIGA awards in 2006; a jury wrote: "A hole cut across the book is the focus of this children's book about the hole in our body." The presentation of honest information is enhanced by strange images.
In 2010, Lange was working on a children's book, Big Long Lulu , with American novelist Siri Hustvedt. He also worked on other children's books, Little Hand , with Danish poet and writer Naja Marie Aidt.
In 2012, the website shows an ABC book, a collaboration with Annette Lindegaard, Hele verdens ABC .
Children's book app
In 2013, the interactive digital English version of the Lange children's book, The Book of Holes was released by Chocolate Factory Publications as an app for the iPad.
The Book of Holes app was awarded Kirkus Star, which was awarded in 2013 to "Books of Exceptional Merit" at "Best Book Apps Of 2013" provided by Kirkus . This app is described as "Educational and entertaining - and tailor-made to trigger interchanges between younger children and unwary adults." (Informational app iPad 2-5) ". The Kirkus reviews call it "A roomy introduction to a hole, mostly, a kind of anatomy with a touch-activated effect that runs the scale from strange to edgy festive."
