Banner step and repeat (sometimes step and repeat wall or wall press) is a publicity background used primarily for event photography, printed with repetitive patterns so that logos or brand emblems are visible in photos of people who standing in front of him. Steps and repeat banners are common fixtures of red carpets or fashion events, or special prints for weddings or galas to give a more "celebrity-like" impression to the photo of a participant.

Step-and-back backgrounds can be created in several ways. The most common ways are vinyl, cloth, poster paper, canvas or attached to hard substrates such as plywood or foam. Recently steps and repetitions have been made with green plants, called 'green steps and repetitions'. Each has its own pros and cons. Cloth tends to have a hotspot in photography which means it tends to absorb flash rather than reflect it. Vinyl is a heavier task and sometimes has brighter and more vibrant images. The support structure may vary depending on size. Standard trade display display frames are often used, or may be hung or applied to the wall.

The main use for step and repetition is brand awareness. Vendors may charge sponsorship fees for logos to be displayed or for company names displayed in the background. The idea is that photos will be shared through various platforms that cause ripple effects in the impression. Recently, step and banner repetitions are being used more broadly and not just for hollywood style events. They can also be seen at trade shows, conventions, demo days, grand opening and even weddings, birthdays, and events of the Apostolic Pentecostal church.
