While at the World Wrestling Council based in Greenville, South Carolina, he developed his Austin Creed gimmick, which relies heavily on the Apollo Creed character from the Rocky series.

During his time at NWA Anarchy, Creed is part of a tag team named Awesome Attraction with Hayden Young. The pair had one of the longest titles in promotional history after beating Justice Served (Jason Justice and Mike Free) in Cornelia, Georgia on April 7, 2007.
