Justin Turner was born in Long Beach, California, to John and Betsy Turner. He has a younger sister.

Turner attended Mayfair High School in Lakewood, California, winning three major All-Suburban teams as a shortstop and second baseman. He hit, 514 in the league playing as a senior, earning the most valuable player on the way to a league title. He studied at California State University, Fullerton, where he majored in kinesiology and played campus baseball for the Titans. He earned a new All-American award from Baseball America in 2003 after quickly taking over as a second baseman. He was named to the 2003 College World Series All-tournament team as a shortstop. Many CWS fans that year remembered him as a player hit by a fastball after coming in 3 for 3 including an HR. The following year, Cal State Fullerton won a two-match final over Texas at the 2004 College World Series.

Turner was compiled in the 29th round of the 2005 Major League Baseball Draft by the New York Yankees, but he did not sign. He was recruited in the seventh round (overall 204) from the 2006 draft by the Cincinnati Reds, receiving a $ 50,000 bonus after signing a contract with the organization.

Cincinnati Reds

Turner reported to the Reds' Rookie League affiliate Billings Mustangs, where he saw time in all four infield positions and at the outfield, finishing the season with an average of 0.338 batting teams and 9.21 OPS. He was promoted to Double-A Chattanooga within two years, finishing the 2008 season, at the age of 23, with an average of 0.289 and 0.792 OPS at that level.

Baltimore Orioles

On December 9, 2008, during the Winter Meeting, Turner traded along with utility player Ryan Freel and infielder Brandon Waring to the Baltimore Orioles, in exchange for the catcher RamÃÆ'³n HernÃÆ'¡ndez. He was invited to spring training as a non-list invitation; after completion, he was assigned to Triple-A Norfolk for the 2009 season. Playing mostly second and third bases, he finished the year with an average of 0.300 and 0.749 OPS.

Orioles bought Turner's contract on September 8, 2009. He made his major league debut the following day at Fenway Park, pinching to beat Melvin Mora and completing the game on the third base. Three days later, he got his first big shot at Yankee Stadium, a field to the center of Michael Dunn. He finished the season 3-18, after appearing in 12 games, three of them started (all in the third base).

Turner was invited to spring training as a member of the list of 40 people, but was relegated to Norfolk at the end of the camp. However, on 12 April 2010, Orioles placed the second baseman Brian Roberts on the 15-day defect list and remembered Turner from Norfolk. On May 21, 2010, Turner was appointed to duty by the Baltimore Orioles. In 17 games with the Orioles, he hit.111 (3 hits in 27 at-bats).

New York Mets

On May 25, 2010, Turner claimed off waivers of the Orioles by the New York Mets and optioned to Triple-A Buffalo. On June 16, Turner was summoned to Mets, with Nick Evans sent to Buffalo.

After pointing Brad Emaus to the assignment on April 19, 2011, Mets called Turner back. He hit his first major league home run against the Houston Astros on May 15, 2011, off Aneury Rodriguez. A three-run home run, it closes a 5-day RBI for Turner. On May 21st, in the Subway Series game at Yankee Stadium, Turner collected RBI in his seventh straight game, setting the Mook rookie record for most of the matches in a row with the RBI. With this record and other impressive statistics, Turner was named the NL Rookie of the Month for May 2011. He is the first Met to win an award since its inception in 2001.

In 2012, Mets convert it to an all-around utility infielder but on May 6, 2012, when Ruben Tejada's shortstop enters the disabled list Turner starts to play on shortstop with Jordany Valdespin until Tejada returns.

After the 2013 season, Turner is not tendered by Mets, making him a free agent. In 301 matches with the Mets for four seasons, he hit.265.

Los Angeles Dodgers

After being released from Mets, Turner has yet to find a new employer when the Los Angeles Dodgers coach Tim Wallach sees Turner hit in the Cal State Fullerton Alumni game. Turner signed a minor league contract with Dodgers on 5 February 2014, with an invitation to spring training. His contract was bought by Dodgers on March 16 and he was added to the Major League list.

Turner has a breakout season in 2014, playing 109 games due to versatility and injury to Hanley RamÃÆ'rez and Juan Uribe. Turner led the team with an average of 0.340 batting, hitting 7 home runs with 43 RBI at 288 on the bat. On January 16, 2015, he signed a one-year contract, $ 2.5 million with Dodgers, avoiding salary arbitration. He became the third baseman early for most of the 2015 season and reached 0.294 with a career of 16 homers and 60 RBI.

In the 2015 National League Division Series against his former Mets team, Turner leads the Dodgers with 10 hits at 19 ABs for an average of.526, with LDS 6's record of the hit being double. After Dodgers was eliminated from post-season, he underwent an arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. He signed a new one-year contract, $ 5.1 million, with Dodgers to avoid salary arbitration in January 2016.

In 2016, Turner plays in 151 career games, and also has the highest career at home run (27) and RBI (90), while hitting 0.275. He has six hits (including a home run) in 15 at-bats in the 2016 Serie Series, but struggled in the 2016 National League Championship Series, just hitting.200.

On December 23, 2016, Dodgers signed Turner for a four-year contract worth $ 64 million. Turner kicked off the 2017.379 season race before going into the list of disabled people with a tense right knee, which kept him out from May 18 to June 9. On July 6, he won the All-Star Final Voting, earning a spot in the 2017 All-Star Baseball League Game with 20.8 million votes, a Final Vote record. Turner completed the season with an average of 0.322 batting, oncase percentage of 0.415, 21 home runs, and 71 RBI, finishing third in NL in batting average and second in percentage on-base. In NLDS 2017, it has six hits in 13 at-bats (0.462 averages), including a home run. Turner and Chris Taylor were selected as co-MVPs of the 2017 National League Championship Series, where he fought.333 with two home runs and seven RBI. However, in the 2017 World Series, he only had four strokes in 25 at-bats, for an average of.160 when the Dodgers lost to Houston Astros in seven games. Turner broke Dusty Baker's franchise record for most RBIs in one post-season as he drove in the 14th round in Game One of the World Series.

Turner was hit by a throw in his left wrist during a spring training game on March 19, 2018. He suffered a fractured fracture, which required no surgery but he had to start the season on the disabled list. He did not rejoin the Dodgers until May 15th.
