An photo-essay is a set or set of photos created to create a series of emotions in the audience. Photo essays will often display images in deep emotional stages. Photo essays range from pure photographic work to photos with text or small commentary to full text essays illustrated with photos.
Examples of photo essays include:
- An article in a publication, sometimes one full page or two spread pages
- Other books or full publications.
- A webpage or part of a website.
- A single montage or photo collage image, with text or other additions, is intended to be viewed as a whole and as an individual photo. Such work may also be included in the mixed media category.
- An art performance performed at a particular time and location. Some such events are also included in other categories of categories.
