Palo Alto College is a community college located in the San Antonio, Texas, USA region. It is a member of the Alamo Community College District.

History

Palo Alto College was first approved by the ACCD Supervisory Board on 21 February 1983 and hired by the Texas Legislature on March 19, 1983 - the official date of its establishment. The college started with 231 students in high school and military installations with administrative offices located in Billy Mitchell Village. In 2007-2008, colleges had 7,662 students enrolled. The college was founded in nearly 126 acres (0.51 km ²) ground. Palo Alto College has more than 100 staff members and full-time faculty members. The original PAC complex includes 11 buildings and 26 classrooms.

Academics

The new campus attracts students from all over Bexar County and adjoining districts. In 1991, Palo Alto College was named the fastest growing university. A consistent increase in registration has boosted physical growth, particularly through the construction of new facilities for additional classrooms as well as sports and recreation. As a comprehensive community community college, Palo Alto College provides exemplary education and training for diverse and aspiring communities. Colleges educate, nurture, and inspire students through a dynamic and supportive learning environment that promotes the intellectual, cultural, economic, and social life of the community.

Palo Alto College fulfills its function by offering the following:

General, transfer, and technical education;
Develop basic skills and comprehensive literacy programs;
Continuing education and community outreach;
Success and student support programs;
Instructional and distance education technology;
Source library information; and
Institutional research, planning, development and evaluation.

The college also provides several courses in logistics and supply chain management education and training at the association level and certificate level. The college also offers the only aviation technology program in South Central Texas outside the four-year school; although enrollment in the program has been halted to six students in 2007, the program has been revived for registration 198 in December 2013.
